I still remember the first time i got a “big kid” bike. It was black and green and I remember it being huge. My dad was trying to show me how to ride my bike, but balance and I did not see eye to eye. Eventually though I got the hang of it. Then it clicked and I was cruisin down my sidewalk like P Diddy. Who knew how many neighborhood girls I had chasing after me with juice boxes in hand. As I was going I came upon an obstacles: The Boundary Line. You know what I’m talking about. That line that as a child you weren’t aloud to go past. Past that line lawlessness ruled the day. Kids ran around without shirts. They didn’t look both ways before crossing the street, only one way…the madness. As I approached this point of no return I knew that if I was going to fulfill my true destiny of being Batman later and life and saving the world I would have to turn around. Problem, I realized I hadn’t taken the time to ask my dad how to stop. But I was a resourceful kid, I would just do a big U-turn in my neighbors driveway. To this day I still believe that a kid from the other side of The Boundary Line shined a mirror or something in my eye. I didn’t anticipate the rocket type speed I was flying at and…well ran into a landscape timber and flew over my handle bars into my neighbors yard.

I think this is a perfect picture of what we do with God sometimes. God provides the tools, the ability, and the knowledge. He shows us how to ride our bike and how to keep balance, even letting us fall every once and awhile. Then we get the hang of it and just take off. We think we know whats best. How fast we should be going and what direction we are suppose to go. We don’t take the time to listen to all of God’s instructions, and sometimes we need to slow down. But we don’t know how. So we end up on our backs, and He comes and picks up.
Psalm 119:9 ” How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart;¬† do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes¬† as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts¬† and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.

Usually we forget that we need to keep focused on God and what he has planned for us. That we can not succeed unless we are chasing after Him. Because if you don’t chase after God then you end up on your back and your brother is laughing at you. Thanks for that Aaron.
